Clarissa Beavers brings a strong sense of artistic creativity to the Board. She has been active in the Springfield community since 2016 as a graduate student, a higher education professional, and community advocate. Her involvement with Clark State Community College and Wittenberg University prepared her to bring a keen eye for marketing, communications, outreach, and social media management to 1159 South. She holds a M.Ed. Higher Education Administration from Wright State University, and a B.A. in Telecommunications/Media Business, with a Marketing minor from Bowling Green State University.
Culture, people, and words are the things that drive her. Clarissa values servant leadership, influencing harmony in environments, and collaborating to create community. She thrives best when serving others in supporting them to make informed decisions for their lives.
“It seems to me that trying to live without friends is like milking a bear to get cream for your morning coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble, and then not worth much after you get it.” –Zora Neale Hurston
