1159 South CDC has broken ground on its first Serenity model, a 1277 square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath, one-level single-family home with modern amenities and a welcoming front porch. The home sits on a large, nearly one-third-acre lot on the main corridor of South Yellow Springs Street.
The Serenity is southwest Springfield’s first new open-market home in more than 20 years. The buyer will benefit from the City of Springfield’s 15-year new construction property tax abatement and ongoing corridor road reconstruction that – like 1159 South’s Serenity home – is expected to be completed in late 2024. The home will be sold below cost with a 5-year owner-occupancy requirement. Qualified low-income buyers may also apply to 1159 South for an affordability subsidy.
