Bobby Mims

Mr. Mims is a lifelong and current resident of southwest Springfield.  He is a highly regarded member of Springfield’s civic and non-profit community.  Mr. Mims has served on several boards and committees in the Springfield community.  One of the most memorable was serving as co-chairperson of the city’s annual Culture Fest Steering Committee in 2011.  In 2015, he was selected (out of 88 counties) for the top Directors’ award in the State of Ohio Re-Entry Program.

Mr. Mims has been employed by Opportunities for Individual Change (OIC) for many years, where he manages the Opportunities for New Directions Program, assisting ex-offenders to successfully segue into life outside of the prison system.

Mr. Mims is the father of 7 children, and a host of grand/ great grand-children. Mr. Mims is also a member of Restored Life Ministries where he serves as Chair Person for their Prison Ministry Program.  He is a graduate of Wayne State Community College in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Mims has also completed undergraduate study at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
